Loatinover Pounds Celebrates 3 Years Of “Hood Misunderstood” With A Heartfelt Message To Fans. Pretoria-born rapper Loatinover Pounds has taken to social media to mark a major milestone: the third anniversary of his breakthrough debut EP Hood Misunderstood, a project that not only introduced the world to his raw storytelling but also laid the foundation for his unstoppable rise in SA hip hop.

Released on June 24, 2022, Hood Misunderstood was more than just an EP — it was a leap of faith, a bold statement from a young artist hungry to be heard. “It feels like just yesterday that I poured my heart, soul, and every drop of my hustle into this project,” Loatinover Pounds reflected in his heartfelt message.

The 8-track EP captured the essence of Mabopane, his journey, and the unfiltered realities of life in the hood. From the fan-favourite “Beke Le Beke” to the introspective “Flower Seeds” and “Karma Delivery”, each track served as a piece of Loatinover Pounds’ identity — unapologetically Pitori, unapologetically me, as he proudly puts it.

But it was the “Sosh Plata (Remix)” featuring 25K and Thapelo Ghutra that truly shifted the game. The remix exploded, racking up over 7 million streams on Spotify and 8 million views on YouTube, while dominating South African radio, topping Metro FM for two weeks and receiving major love from Motsweding FM and other stations across the country.

“Hood Misunderstood” didn’t just stream well — it created momentum. Winning the Artist on the Rise title at the 2022 Homecoming Events and getting to perform the Sosh Plata Remix on the main stage was a defining moment. “You turned this project into a movement, and I’m forever grateful,” he shared, giving props to his collaborators Khalee G, Kid Kaydence, Ghoust, Earl P, Swartpeare (RIP), Thapelo Ghutra, Infinite, Oly, and photographers MM. Nobert & Perfect Kanon.

Fans weren’t left out either — in fact, they were front and centre in his message. “To my day ones, the fans, the listeners, the supporters who streamed, shared, and showed love — y’all are the real MVPs.”

The lasting impact of Hood Misunderstood continues to ripple into Loatinover Pounds’ current success. He revealed that the same energy that built the EP also helped fuel the completion of his debut album, Pray 4 Pitori.
